He was predeceased by: his father Charles W. Ennis. He is survived by: his mother Aline Elzey Ennis; his children, Kimberly A. Elzey (Jewell "Pebbles" Thompson), Charles R. (Elzey, Jr.), Mary E. Elzey and Ronald Lee Elzey; his sisters, Estella "Nee" Duberry, Marilyn "Marie" Hitchens, Evangelist Connie Milbourne (Pastor Alfonso) and Arlene T. Ennis; the mother of his children Peggy Ann Horsey; and his sisters, Darlene Armstrong and Mary Janet Woolford. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
