He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Lee and Hattie Carter Hurley; and his siblings, Dorothy (CW), Kenneth, Patsy and George.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Matthai; his sons, Richard, Eddie (Danielle) and Jeff (Lori); his grandchildren, Richard Jr., Amanda (Greg), Zachary, Tatum (Chris), Carter, Jason, Emely, Devin, Jocelyne, Lindsay (Rob) and Brittany; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Kinsley, Wyatt, Drew, Conner, Cooper and Pop Pop; his siblings, Connie (Howard) and Danny (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Rosalie, Norma Lee, Janice (Terry) and Bob. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will announce the date once the current COVID 19 crisis is under control.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society or any charity of your choice in his name if you wish to do so.
