He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry Powell Sr. and Clara Knight Powell; his brothers, Charles Henry Powell Jr. and Harold Carlton "Buddy" Powell; and his great grandchild Lane Ryan Donoway.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Powell (Justice) of Whaleyville; his children, Nancy Powell Donoway (Mike) of Newark, Bonnie Powell Lewis (Andy) of Newark and Harry Watson "Buster" Powell Jr. (Annette) of Newark; his grandchildren, Michael Donoway Jr. (April), Matthew Donoway (Shannon), Amber Beauchamp (Byron), Sarah Milligan (Hunter), Lindsey Palmer (Phillip), Lauren Lewis (Grayson) and Hunter Powell; his great grandchildren, Lawson Donoway, Saylor Milligan, Lance Donoway, Haddie Donoway and Paisley Beauchamp; and his sister Bessie J. Calhoun of Dagsboro, Delaware..
