She was predeceased by: her son John "Tony" Dyson; and her siblings, Rocheila Dyson, Bonita Drummond and Joseph Dyson, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Daphane Savoy, Gerald Dyson (Mary) and James Brown III (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Martin, Jahmel, Johrel, Jerome, Jaila, Janiece, Tavon, Brandon, Jessica, Shaunnita, Sanyah and Skylah; her siblings, Ida "Diane" Heard (Garnell), Tamalla Barber (Joe), George Dyson, Jr., Thomas "Tommy" Dyson (Dale), Robert Dyson and Sylvester Anderson; her brother-in-law Joseph Drummond; her aunts, Ophelia Jackson (Jack) and Mary; her uncle Robert Barber (Tudy); and her close friends, James 'Johnny" Monkister and Thomas "Tony" Ward.
