He was predeceased by: his parents, James Claude and Eva Marie Hendershot (Shaffer); his sons, Robert W. Hendershot, Jr. and Rodney Hendershot; and his siblings, Janice Curtis, Patience McBee and Harry Hendershot.
He is survived by: his wife Edna M. Hendershot (Carlisle); his daughters, Sharon K. Ward (Leon) of Hancock and Lisa M. Manning (Jeff) of Hancock; and his siblings, Patricia Thomas, Ellen Ward and James Roger Hendershot. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
