With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanna I. Komsa of Hancock, Maryland, who passed away on December 30, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Strawderman and Anna Carter Strawderman; her husband John A. Komsa, Jr.; her sons, John A. Komsa III and Jeffrey A. Komsa; her siblings, Virginia Hatcher, Hazel Jones, Harry A. Strawderman and Richard I. Strawderman; and her granddaughter Samantha Nicole Gleason.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph A. Komsa of Hancock, MD., Beatrice A. Scott of Odenton, MD. and Mary B. Gleason (Stephen); and her brother Paul D. Strawderman of Berkeley Springs, WV.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
