He was predeceased by: his parents, Huey James and Thelma Elizabeth Barnhart Trail; his wife Mary Lou Trail (Thompson); and his siblings, Mary Jane Munson and William W. Trail (Bill).
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Baker (John) of Baltimore, MD., Jamie Carr (Russell) of Berkeley Springs, WV., Carol Ann Trail (Luke Feitner) of Hagerstown, MD., James W. Trail of Hedgesville, WV. and Michael S. Trail (Darlene Gladhill) of McConnellsburg, PA.; his grandchildren, Shannon Baker (Joshua Haynes), Jonathan Baker, Brandon Carr, Aaron Carr, James W. Trail II (Stephanie), Jordan Trail (Leah), Jared Trail, Kenneth Trail (Chelsea Smiley), Evelyn Golden, Kevaya Trail and Electra Trail; and his great grandchildren, Danielle Brooks, Austin Brooks, Isabella Brooks, Arielle Haynes, Presley Carr, Brynlea Trail, Daylen Trail, Kaidence Trail, Ayrihanna Trail, Blanden Trail and Charlie James Trail. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
