Eric I. Shafer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eric I. Shafer of Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eric I. Shafer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Irving Shafer and Richard W. Shafer; his grandparents, Louise, Adrian Irving (Sonny), Helen and F. Davis Shafer; his uncles, F. Davis Shafer, II, John Shafer, Clyde Shafer (Skip), Larry Koogle and Doug Sine; his aunt Su Sine; and his brother-in-law Sean Delaney.
He is survived by: his sister Branin Shafer Delaney; his nephew Liam; his niece Caitlin; his brother Steve Shafer (Lynn); his aunt Judith (Irving); his uncle John Rudy; his cousin Michele Taylor (Mark); his aunts, Karen Koogle (Shafer), Bette Shafer and Robyn Shafer; his close friend Paula Zimmerman (Mike); and his pet Blu. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made in Eric's name to The Gratitude Foundation (Link below) to help others recovering from addiction.
