It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard E. Bertelmann (Germantown, Maryland), who passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bertelmann and Martha Latz; his stepfather James Latz; and his brother Harry Bertelmann. He is survived by: his wife Jean Bertelmann of Gaithersburg; his children, Darcy Bertelmann of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Jim Bertelmann of Fairfax, Virginia; his granddaughter Susan; and also, Michael Rau of Leesburg, Doug, Lynette Bertelmann of Fort Mill and Nancy Sheets of Reno, Nevada.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous adored nephews and nieces including his brother.
