He was predeceased by: his sister Betty Layfield; and his son Jonathan Chilly. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Nichols; his children, Joshua Nichols Jr., George Nichols, Robbie Adkins, Tony Adkins, Rose Causey (Buddy), Stacy Chilly and Kayla Daniels; and his brother Mike Workman.
