He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Clinton and Ruth Ann Nelson (Bjorkland); his wife Edith May Nelson (Miner); and his brothers, Don Carl Nelson, Gary Lee Nelson and Jerome Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Juli A. Rowan of Woodsboro, MD, John R. Nelson of Lampasas, TX and James C. Nelson of Chambersburg, PA; and his brothers, Walter E. Nelson of Westminster, CO, Gerald C. Nelson of Beaumont, TX and Dwayne Nelson of Hinckley, MN. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
