He was predeceased by: his parents, Noble Simms and Elenora Simms; his siblings, Alonzo Simms, Shelton Simms, Morris Simms, Claude Simms and Brenda Simms; his nephew Morris Simms Sr.; and his daughter Cheryl Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Evans; his children, Iris Griffin of Fort Wayne, IN, Donna Smith (Curtis) of Greenwood, DE, Donnell Cornish of Frederica, DE, Russell Simms Jr. of Federalsburg, MD, Tamiko Simms of Federalsburg, MD and Dondrell Simms of Federalsburg, MD; and his siblings, Shirley Simms of Seaford, DE, Barbara Stevens Sylvia Ross (Robert) of Camden, DE and Virgil Simms (Lee Lee Lake) of Hurlock, MD. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to restrictions regarding COVID-19, we will be allowing five people to come into the building to view at a time.
