He is survived by: his wife Gisela Rau (Hoechst); his sons, John (Donna), Walter (Joan) and Michael (Susan); his grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan Knickerbocker), Marie (Zachary Quinn), Daniel, Ethan and Trevor; his great grandchildren, Luke, Sadie, Alexandra, Charlotte and Reagan; and his brother Eddie.
