He was predeceased by: his sisters, Phyllis Cavanaugh and Annalee Caruso; and his daughter Maureen Doherty. He is survived by: his wife Hannah Michels (Anne); his children, Laura Engle (Rick) of Anaheim, CA, Douglas Michels (Rochelle) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jack Michels of Ellicott City and Conrad Michels (Jennifer) of Ellicott City; and his son-in-law Martin Doherty of Loudonville, NY..
