He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Appell and Charles Appell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Francis Appell; and his children, Linda A. Pierson (August) and R. Bruce Appell (Susan). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
