He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Smith and Edna Smith (Fansler); his wives, Luvina Louise Smith and Mary Elizabeth Smith; and his brothers, Charles Smith and Ben Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Porter (Warren), Susan Currey and Gary O. Smith Jr.; and his sisters, Marg Young and Brenda "Sue" Helmsteter. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and an extended family with stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Scarpelli Funeral Home (108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
