She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Queen and Mary V. Queen; her husband Melvin L. Bowser August; her daughter Betty J. Jones; her granddaughter Marsha Madden; and her siblings, Mazie Queen Garner, John H. Queen Jr. and Joseph Queen.
She is survived by: her sister Aileen Queen Johnson; her granddaughters, Donna Snowden and Sharon Johns; and her nephew Ira Queen. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
