“Ernie was not only a great friend but he was a father figure for me since my father's death. As a fellow Army veteran, I admired and loved his stories of WWII as they were in sync to my families stories of WWII, Korea, Veitnam, Desert Storm, and Afghanistan wars. I will miss one of my best friends who shared his life with me for such a short time. I remember his eyes and words as I hoisted up Old Glory up his new flag pole as he resighted the names of his lost friends. Love Karl Steinsberger”
