He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund "Bo" Wisthoff and Mary Lee Wisthoff (Abell); and his brother-in-law Howard. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Amy (John), Mike (Kari) and Cindy; his grandsons, Milo, Dominic, Dean and Lucas; his siblings, Ann, Pat (Julie) and Mary (Rob); his sister-in-law Wanda (Dave); and his cousin Jack (Carolyn, family: Tammy, Jacqueline, Alexandria). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
