He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma Cheek; his grandson Brent; and his siblings, Howard, Nova Jean, Rosalie and Onieta.

He is survived by: his children, Douglas Cheek (Cynthia) and Tammy Hooper (Matthew Turbutt); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Daniel, Seneca and Jessica; and his pet Danny Boy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephew.
