He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Alexander Matthews Francis Sr. and Emma Francis Reese; his aunts, Rose Webb Netters and Felinese Baker; and his sister Irene Pickett (Elijah) of Louisiana.
He is survived by: his children, Madalyn Anita and Darrell Alexander (Sharon); his wife Doretha Francis; his son Gerald Francis (Michelle); his grandchildren, Alexander, III, Julian and Jerra Francis; his great grandchildren, Alexander Josiah (A. J.) and James Francis; his sisters, Barbara Owens, Dorothy Smart, Betty Wienhoff and Joyce Dixon (Eugene); his godson Mark Brown; and his sister Beverly Greene. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
