She was predeceased by: her parents, William Eugene Carter and Thelma Gertrude Snowden-Carter; her grandparents, Rev. William Allen Carter, Mary Addie Petersen-Carter, George Washington Snowden and Sophia Elizabeth Oden-Snowden; her siblings, Janet Carter-Capel, Valerie West and Jimmy Ben Jr.; and her grandson Kirk "Manny" Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Kirk Alvin Carter, Jeffrey Michael Hayes, Robin Annette Carter and Day; her daughter-in-law Rosemaria Somerville-Hayes; her goddaughter Brielle Marie Jones; and her friends, Paulette Langford-Parker, Victoria Houston and Brenda Wright-Harrell. She is also survived by her three children, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John United Methodist Church (6019 Belle Grove Rd, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225). A wake was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
