He was predeceased by: his brothers, Walter Benoit Jr., Robert Benoit, Donald Benoit and Francis Benoit; and his parents, Walter J. Sr. Benoit and Grace M. Benoit (Hurney).
He is survived by: his girlfriend Sylvia Beaumont; his sons, Richard Benoit Jr. (Paul Murphy) of Smithfield, RI and Brian Benoit (Michelle) of Whitinsville; his grandchildren, Alex Benoit of Texas and Leah Benoit of Whitinsville; his girlfriend's sons, Christopher Beaumont of Fredericksburg, VA, Jeffrey Beaumont of Whitinsville, Cassaundra, Madison and Kelsey; and his sister Patricia Williams of Whitinsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
