Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Irene Mae VandenAkker of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, who passed away at the age of 90, on March 10, 2022. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Maynard "Mike" VandenAkker; her children, Duane (Paula), Lori Miedema (Mark), Bruce (Laura), Diane DeVries (Paul) and Keith (Naomi); her siblings, Marian "Boots" Buma (Paul) and John VanderBaan; her granddaughter Angela DeVries; and her parents, Hein VanderBaan and Sadie VanderBaan (Nyeholt). She was also cherished by 16 grandchildren whom she cherished, 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Whitinsville Christian School's Endowment Fund, 279 Linwood Ave, Whitinsville, MA 01588, or to Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, 305 Goldthwaite Rd, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
