He was predeceased by: his parents, Zopito "Peter" Cosenza and Dora Cosenza (D'Angelo) of Hyde Park; and his brother-in-law John P. Merino. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Cosenza (Merino); his daughter Christa Cosenza of Westwood; his sister-in-law Madeline Merino (Falcetta); and his niece Elizabeth Merino of Dedham.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Peter to the American Heart Association.
