He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew M. McAuliffe, Sr. and Josephine McAuliffe (Cauley); his wife Claire; his son Lawrence; and his siblings, Joan McAuliffe, Marie Roberts (Paul) and Lawrence McAuliffe.

He is survived by: his children, Andrew III (Bridget), John (Lana), Ted (Anne), Joanmarie Lee (Rich) and Paul (MaryFrancis); and his grandchildren, Lisa, Andrew IV, Edward, Zachary, Justin, Oliver, Paul, Jack, Sarah, Rory, Carmen, Samuel, Simon, Michael, Stephanie and Thomas.
