He is survived by: his children, Kevin Szalankiewicz (Linda) of Westfield, Karen Lanouette (Phil) of Westfield and Mark Szalankiewicz (Beth); his grandchildren, Libby, Grace of Holden, MA., Dan, Kyle, Michael and Rachel Szalankiewicz; and his sister Dolores Irwin (Jim) of Stratford, CT. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dana Farber institute or the American heart Association in his name.
