He is survived by: his children, Lori, Lisa and Joe Bates; his stepchildren, Nick, Stephany and Sam; his stepgrandchildren, Emma and Abby; his parents, Laurence Bates and Eleanor Bates; the mother of his children Beatrice Bates; his former wife Regina Bates; his siblings, Jeanne Stromgren (Keith) and Kenny Bates; his brother-in-law Kirk Sanders; and his nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Jen, Jessie-Fern, Kim, Kyle and Alex. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many extended family members and friends.
