He was predeceased by: his father George N. Carmel Sr.; and his siblings, Edward Carmel and Marlene Stober. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Carmel; his children, Donna Carmel (Robert Post), Michael Carmel, George E. Carmel, Jr. and Anita Carmel (John Blanchard); and his siblings, James Carmel, Margaret Pitoniak, Bernadette Case, Mary Pitoniak and Rose DiClementi.
