He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hans Kanerva and Miriam "Mimsie" Kanerva (Poulakka); his wife Marilyn Kanerva (Martone); his sister Jolynne Kanerva (Mona Prescott); his children, Wayne Kanerva, Lynda Grady (Michael), Kim Hopewell (Mark) and Gina Bengston (Bob Christopher); his grandchildren, Jessica Andersen, Jacquelene Kelly, Matthew, Daniel Hopewell and Angela Antinarella; and his great grandchildren, Octavian Hopewell, Zachary Hopewell and Jake Brown. He was also cherished by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Boylston Harold N. Keith American Legion Post 204, the American Cancer Society or the Mercy Center for Developmental Disabilities.
