With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derek A. Smith of Townsend, Massachusetts, born in Lowell, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 6, 2023 at the age of 50. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia A. Smith (Loomis). He is survived by: his father Douglas G. Smith; his wife Carol A. Cornell-Smith; his children, Everett Smith and Madelyn Smith of Townsend, MA; his sister Gwendolyn Loomis Smith (Adam Tober) of Maine; his parents-in-law, David and Linda Cornell; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Silvestro (Tony) of New York, Wayne Cornell (Amy) of New York and Susan Jakubowski (Brian); his nephews, Michael, Tyler, Jeffrey Brewer, Hayden and Andrew Jakubowski; his niece Sadie Cornell; his aunts, Lynne Smith of New York and Donna Loomis Sealer (Walter) of Delaware; and his great-uncle Robert L. Pfannebecker.
