He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Mendes and Dorothea Mendes; his wife Janice Mendes (Kelly); his sister Carol Sylvia Edmands (late David Edmands); his stepson Greg Jigerjian; and his grandson David Charles Mendes.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lawrence Mendes (Carol) of Quincy, James Mendes (Donna) of Fall River, Mae Smith (Francis) of East Taunton, Priscilla McRae (Alan) of Raynham and Frances Brune (Jeff) of Raynham; his children, Marie Mendes of Taunton and David Mendes of Berkley; his stepdaughter Maryann Jigerjian of Raynham; his granddaughter Michelle Mendes Baptista (Andrew) of Taunton; his stepgranddaughters, Kellie Jigerjian of Conway, SC, Vivian and Mila Jigerjian of Middleboro; his great grandchild Max Jacob Baptista; and his aunt Carrie Medeiros of Raynham.
