It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice Emily Velten of Stoneham, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 13, 2021, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Clifford A. Velten; her parents, Walter Bacon and Grace Bacon (Whitcomb); her daughter Diane Frates; her grandchildren, John C. Brown III and Erin L. McLaughlin; and her sister Lois Cavanaugh.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne C. Velten (Ann) of Haverhill, Joyce G. Turner (late Paul) of Reading and Janet L. McLaughlin (late Leonard) of Billerica; her son-in-law Robert Frates of Peabody; and her siblings, Irene Cain, Charlotte Bacon and Harvey Bacon. She is also survived by grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
