He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Carey and Gertrude Carey; his wife Charlotte Farley Carey; his daughter Lila Cleveland; his granddaughter Jessica Hayes; and his siblings, Norman "Doug" Carey, Raymond Carey II and Marjorie Fellows.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Kathy), Gerald Jr. of Shutesbury, Michael (Ellen) of Amherst, Deborah O'Brien of Shutesbury, Vickie Lauder (David) of Shutesbury and Lynda Vassallo (Robert) of Shutesbury; his siblings, Lois Coffin, Lora Leduc and Wayne Carey; and his child Gerry. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
