She is survived by: her daughter Kathleen Holmes; her son-in-law Donald Ludwig; her granddaughter Harriet Ludwig Holmes; her daughter Susan Burgess; her son-in-law Ronald Burgess; her grandsons, Seth, Daniel and Garrett; her son Warren Holmes; her daughter-in-law Marcia Livingston Holmes; her grandson Andrew; her sister Nancy Cobb; her brother-in-law Brian Cobb; her niece Heather Cummings; and her nephew Adam Cobb.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Carol B. Ayer and her son Andrew B. Holmes.
