He was predeceased by: his father Manuel DaCosta Melo. He is survived by: his mother Maria Lourena (Sousa); his son Jorge M. Melo (Gina McConnell) of Revere; his stepchildren, Tabatha Mackay of Boston, Serena Mason of Dedham and Edmund Cardoso of Haverhill; his sisters, Maria Batista of Fall River and Gabriela Melo of Portugal; his grandchildren, Avery Cardoso, Maddock Mason, Logan Mason, Casey Mackay, Cori Mackay, Cameron Mackay and Alani DiFranco; and his nephews, David and Michael Batista. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
