He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Margy Becker. He is survived by: his parents, Gene Horyn and Nancy Horyn; his sister Cathy Horyn; his nephew Jacob Ogden (Virginia); his father-in-law Dan Becker (Dottie Melody); and his siblings-in-law, Kandace Hagendorn (David), Kelly Becker (Fred Horvath), Kate Becker (Darell Hammond) and Daniel Becker (Beth). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.

His famous pig roasts were requested by various groups around the island, for which he either volunteered or refused payment, requesting a donation to Autism Speaks instead.
