He was predeceased by: his parents, Lexie J. Weir (Carr) and Charles A. Weir; his sons, David Weir of Halifax and Curtis Woodward of Halifax; and his siblings, E. Jean Foley (Weir) of So, Madeline I. A. Wooley (Weir) of Kansas City, MO, Walter C. Weir of Underhill, VT and James A. Weir, Sr. of Taunton, MA.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth B. Weir; his children, Kenneth Weir of Whitman and Lisa Smith (James) of East Bridgewater; his grandchildren, David Hathaway (Ashlet Gregor), Tyler Cataldo-Woodward and Nichol Smith; his great grandchild David Hathway, Jr.; and his brother Paul A. Weir of Mansfield, MA.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
