He was predeceased by: his wife Bette. He is survived by: his daughter Amy Rothstein; his stepdaughter Laurel Hauser (John); his brother Erwin Greenstein (Marsha); his grandchildren, Shayna Rothstein, John Hauser, Alexandra Kruip, Chase Hauser and Morgan Johnson; his nephews, Gary and Ira Greenstein; and also, Deborah and Amy. He is also survived by many cousins, great-nieces and a great- nephew.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Greater Boston Food Bank, or the MSPCA.
