She was predeceased by: her parents, William C. Edson and Margaret M. Edson (Doyle); and her siblings, Carole L. Govostes (William) of Braintree, Mildred R. Hodorff and James D. Edson.
She is survived by: her husband William A. Cowell; her children, Kevin P. Cowell of Mansfield, Jaime E. Cowell of Pawtucket and Colleen R. Cowell of Mansfield; and her siblings, William R. Edson of Hyde Park, Margaret A. Bennett of Quincy and Patricia M. Covitz (Ronald) of Stoughton. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Mary's family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston MA 02215.
