He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis M., Sr. and Mary P. Collins (McNamara); and his sister Mary P. Collins. He is survived by: his children, Shawn of Mansfield, Jared of Quincy and Matthew of Mansfield; and his brothers, James Peterson of Walpole and Michael Peterson (Kathryn) of Norton. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
