He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jean; his daughters, Carol Ann (Cherrington), Maryann (Trono), Suzanne (Miller), Joanne (Brine) and Dianne Winchester; and his parents, Senator Charles A. Winchester and Lillian Ursula Desmond. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
