June Adams Johnson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 18, 2018 we had to say goodbye to June Adams Johnson (Groton, Massachusetts). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Eleanor Martin Adams and Byron Royce Adams; and her spouse Steve. She was also cherished by her 4 children & step children, and by her 6 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She co-founded the 'Carrying On" support group for families who had lost loved ones to suicide. She was a steward and leader of First Parish Church, Groton for four decades and a passionately active member of the Racial Justice Working Group. Behind the scenes, June was the driving force raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds for the preservation of the Old Groton Meeting House. Over the years, June offered pro bono legal services to many local non-profits including Indian Hill Music and the Groton Conservation Trust. June had a great facility for leadership and especially for getting the job done. She loved being outdoors including kayaking, mountain climbing, and most recently farming blueberries. She loved being a grandmother. She loved cooking for others, traveling to new places, and working behind the scenes to get things done without the need to take credit. She was brilliant at seeing potential in others and successfully encouraging many to reach for their highest selves. June's motto for her life was that "the universe honors clear intention backed by absolute commitment." She lived this every day and it left a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service is set for 2 PM on Saturday June 2nd at the First Parish Church, Groton. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to in June's honor. At 7:30 PM on Friday June 1st, Emma's Revolution will perform a memorial concert in June's Honor at First Parish Church, Groton. Net proceeds to benefit Cancer Research.
