He was predeceased by: his father Thomas L. Matthews; and his brother Attorney William P. Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Rose J. Matthews (Noe); his siblings, John L. Matthews of West Newton and Margaret Ann Murphy of Falmouth Heights; and his sisters-in-law, Lucy Matthews and Mary Gucciardi. He is also survived by 8 nieces, 3 nephews, several grand nieces & nephews.
