He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Linda M. Rego; his parents, John Rego and Emily (Avila); his children, John Rego of Fairhaven and Wendy Pacheco (Michael) of Fairhaven; his grandchildren, Hannah Pacheco, Colin Pacheco and Madison Dlouhy; his brother-in-law Steven King; and his sister Brenda Vertente.
