He is survived by: his children, Joe, Joseph W Herring Jr. of Arizona, Karen Herring of Somerset and Elizabeth A. (William); his granddaughter Crystal Herring of New Bedford; his great grandchild Joshua Mello of New Bedford; his close friend Diane Berche of Fairhaven; and his sister Shirley Boie of Colorado.
