He was predeceased by: his parents, Chelsea Fire Chief and Herbert C. Fothergill, Sr.; his wife Patricia M. Tholen Fothergill (McLellan); and his sister Arlene J. Fothergill. He is survived by: his children, Steven J. Tholen (Andrea) and Erin M. Merrill (Matthew) of North Andover; his siblings, Retired Chelsea Fire Chief and Chuck Fothergill (Patricia) of Tewksbury; his sibling-in-law Bert Garrity of Woburn; and his granddaughters, Hailey Merrill of North Andover and Emma Tholen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Per COVID-19 State Regulations, the Funeral Home is allowed a 25 person capacity limit. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing when greeting the family, pay their respects and exit the funeral home to allow other guests to enter.
