He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh F. Howard and Hazel L. Howard (Richardson); and his brother Robert Howard. He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Howard (O'Connell); his children, Joseph Howard, Jr. (Kerrie) of Stoughton, Jill E. Howard of Stoughton and Jeffrey D. Howard of Colorado; his stepsons, John H. Newcomb (Karen) of Canton, Daniel P. Newcomb of Florida and Edward P. Newcomb of Canton; and his siblings, Barbara Landolfi of Middleboro, Eileen Landolfi of Raynham, Mildred Gareri of Stoughton, Trudy Millman of Carver, Paul Howard and Dorothy Lamp. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
