He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Sears and Margaret Sears (Callahan). He is survived by: his wife Maryann Sears (Ashmont); his children, Jaime (Jimmy Resendes) of Taunton and Ashley Shaw of Kingston; his grandson Crew James; and his siblings, Jack Sears of Holbrook, Robert Sears of Framingham, Mary Alice (Ronnie McArdle) of Tennessee, Marsha Plourde of New Hampshire and Teresa Leite of Tennessee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

An avid motorcycle rider, he regularly participated in charity motorcycle runs and was a retired member of REMC, and a member of CVMA Ghost Chapter, NY.
