She was predeceased by: her parent Hippolyta Romero-Nieves; her daughter Sara Medurio; and her siblings, Gladys Martinez, Angel Nieves and Rosa "Canita" Nieves.
She is survived by: her siblings, Carmen Nieves of Chelsea, Juana Andino of Puerto Rico, Andy Nieves-Romero of Puerto Rico, Mercedes Nieves of Puerto Rico and Dan Nieves of Puerto Rico. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, many grand and great grandnieces, and nephews.
